Police say no arrests made following dynamite seizure in St. Thomas

Superintendent Michael Campbell, commanding officer for the St. Thomas Police

The St. Thomas Police have sought to clarify reports surrounding the seizure of a cache of explosives in Bull Bay in the parish.

It was reported that three men were apprehended in connection with the 500 sticks of dynamite on Monday.

But Superintendent Michael Campbell, commanding officer for the St. Thomas Police, says the authorities have not detained any suspects in connection with the seizure.

"It is said that these explosives are connected to gang conflict. Contrary to what is being circulated in the media, there are no arrests in connection with that seizure. The police were conducting operational activity in the Bull Bay area when the explosives were found under a bridge," said Superintendent Campbell.
