LASCO Financial reports 12% jump in Q1 net profit

LASCO Financial Services has reported net profit for the three months ended June 30 rose to $45.5 million, an increase of 12.4 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

The improvement came despite higher expenses and a decline in profit from operations.

Consolidated income increased 3 per cent to $573 million, compared with the first quarter of 2025.

The company says revenue growth was supported by increased remittance transactions and stronger activity in digital financial services, including its e-commerce offering.

However, lending income was affected by lower loan disbursements during the latter part of the previous financial year and the first quarter of this year.

The company says lending growth was moderated during the quarter as it continued efforts to stabilise its portfolio and regularise customers affected by Hurricane Melissa.

LASCO Financial Services says it is continuing to invest in digital infrastructure to support the growth of its remittance services and LASCO Gold Visa Prepaid Card, while also seeking to strengthen its position in the microcredit market.
