Lorraine Walker reports
The police are seeking the help of the public to locate a man who is a key accomplice of the St. Catherine father convicted of sexually abusing and exploiting his daughter and stepdaughter.
The St. Catherine father, a taxi operator, pleaded guilty to several sexual offences and was sentenced on Tuesday in the Home Circuit Court.
He was sentenced to 33 years and eight months in prison for rape, aggravated sexual assault, and sexual intercourse with a person under 16.
He received 15 years for trafficking in persons, 10 years for incest, 10 years for child pornography, and three years for assault occasioning bodily harm.
All sentences are to run concurrently, meaning he will serve 33 years and eight months.
The father was reported to the police in 2024 for sexually assaulting his stepdaughter, who was then 15, and his biological daughter who was 12 when the abuse started.
The incidents occurred between 2022 and 2024.
In several instances, the convicted man also trafficked his daughter and stepdaughter to his friend, known only as 'Sean' or 'King', as well as to underage boys, where he would collect money following the acts.
The abuse was uncovered by relatives who alerted the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), and an investigation was launched, which led to the discovery of incriminating evidence against the man, including video footage.
He was apprehended and subsequently charged.
The police are intensifying their search for the convict's alleged accomplice.
CISCOA investigators are urging the man, known as 'Sean' or 'King', to immediately report the Spanish Town police station.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is also being asked to contact the police.
Meanwhile, head of CISOCA, Superintendent Kerry-Ann Bailey, says the Jamaica Constabulary Force strongly condemns the actions of the convicted father and anyone who preys on children.
Superintendent Bailey commended the investigation team at the St. Catherine CISCOA office for their diligent work that led to the man's conviction.
