The police say they are paying attention to the confrontations taking place across social media platforms.
This following the killing of another tiktoker - 23 year-old Marvin Samuels, also known as 41 Busshead, of Rose Heights in St James.
Senior Superintendent of Police Dennis Brooks, Senior Communication Strategist in the Jamaica Constabulary Force, asserted on Monday that the police cannot turn a blind eye to any potential violent interaction in cyber space.
SSP Brooks, speaking on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines, said as more time is spent on digital platforms, more criminals elements will similarly show up on those platforms.
Accordingly, he said issues "move very quickly from somebody being the victim of a cyber crime, whether it be someone useing threatening or menacing language on a platform, or whether it be someone defaming on a platform ... (to) where we end up in a situation where we are taking it out as violence, and then it becomes an Offences Against the Person (Act) issue."
SSP Brooks noted that the killing of Samuels was a symptom of a wider violence problem.
The young man was shot dead by unknown assailants along Barnett Street.
He was the second social media personality to be killed in two weeks. On December 7, Xaviah Fogah, also called Niah Gang, was shot dead during a live stream.
SSP Brooks has disputed the claim that such deaths are related to free speech.
Instead, he argued such incidents reflect the country's culture of violence being played out on social media.
"When we look at attribution of these particular crimes, they would still fall into the two main attributions that most Jamaican murders can be categorised in... gang violence, or inter personal violence; violence that is perpetuated by persons who you have a previous relationship with; you know them."
"It is as we beging to live more digital lives... and we are seeing violent encounters play out in the digital space, that now we have this particular problem that we are seeing," he added.
