Dr. Kevin White, Assistant Chaplain at the Jamaica Constabulary Force
With the security forces on high alert due to an extreme threat level, Assistant Chaplain at the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Dr. Kevin White, says the police will not be sympathetic towards criminals who continue to take the lives of its members.
This follows the fatal police shooting of a reputed top leader of the One Order gang Othneil 'Tickman' Lobban.
While delivering the sermon at the Area Three Police Worship Service, held Sunday at the Jamaica Evangelistic Centre in Mandeville, Dr. White bemoaned the actions of residents of Tawes Meadows in Spanish Town who praised the supposed gang leader and threatened to attack cops for killing Lobban.
He said Jamaica has lost its moral compass.
Dr. White noted that he will not be praying for any criminal who tries to attack him but will instead be defending himself.
"I dare you to come. This pastor won't be praying before, I'mma pray after. So you dare to come. Are you sizing me up? Let every gunman know, this pastor, he's gonna pray over your body," he warned, adding that the police must "stand up and be counted because the devil ain't playing with us. Let's stop playing around with him."
Meanwhile, Dr. White reprimanded parents who do not question their children about the sources of expensive gadgets.
He implied that some children may obtain these electronic devices by criminal means such as scamming or extortion.
Dr. White said parents cannot sit idly by and allow their children to operate without rules.
The Assistant Chaplain, who is the father of a teenage boy, encouraged parents not to support their children in wrongdoing.
But some of his comments have raised eyebrows:
"I tell my son - he's 14 years old - and I tell him, I'll come for you myself. And worse, I have the power of arrest, and if you resist I'll shoot you myself. And I tell my son I ain't coming nowhere to bail you. They will not see me coming nowhere to bail you," he declared.
