Policeman and two civilians wounded in machete attack

A Policeman and two civilians have been hospitalised in serious condition after being attacked by a machete wielding man in Port Maria, St Mary, Saturday morning.

About 9:30 am, the suspect, who goes by the alias "Cake Throat," attacked and chopped the corporal and two civilians along Main Street, Port Maria.

One of the injured civilians is said to be of unsound mind.

All three victims were transported to  Port Maria Hospital, where they received treatment.

The corporal and one of the civilians were later transferred to Annotto Bay Hospital in serious but stable condition. 

It's reported that police personnel who responded to the attack tried to apprehend the suspect; however, he ran and locked himself in a house at River Lane.

The cops stormed the house and the suspect, who was armed with a machete, was shot. He was also taken to hospital for treatment.
