A police constable accused of car stealing was remanded when he appeared in the St. Ann Criminal Court on Monday.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded until October 6.
Ainsworth Samuels was charged last weekend with larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and fraudulent use of licence plates.
The policeman was allegedly found in possession of a stolen motor vehicle last week.
Investigators reported that a man turned up at Annotto Bay Police Station in St. Mary and insisted that a Toyota Probox parked on the compound was stolen from him.
Constable Samuels, who was on duty at the station, denied the man's claim.
He was taken into custody after the man provided evidence that the vehicle was stolen from him in Claremont, St. Ann on August 16.
Constable Samuels was charged following investigations.
