A police officer, charged with the off-duty fatal shooting of a man in Accompong, St. Elizabeth, was granted bail when he appeared before the St. Elizabeth Parish Court on Wednesday.
Constable Lakarie Barrett was offered bail in the sum of $2 million with surety.
Constable Barrett was charged with the 2022 murder of Lloyd Davis of Accompong, following an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
He was also charged with five counts of unlawful wounding.
A stop order has been placed on him with reporting conditions.
He is to return to court on June 11.
