Poll: Dancehall music influencing crime, most Jamaicans say

The majority of Jamaicans believe there is a connection between dancehall music and the level of criminality in the country. 
 
The RJRGLEANER Don Anderson Poll revealed that 41 per cent of Jamaicans believe there is a connection between dancehall music and the level of crime in Jamaica, while 30 per cent say it somewhat has an influence. 
 
Combined, 71 per cent believe there is a link between dancehall music and criminal behaviour.
 
Pollster Don Anderson says 11 per cent of respondents say dancehall music plays little role in influencing criminal behaviour, while another 11 per cent say not at all.
 
Seven per cent of the respondents say they are not sure whether dancehall music influences criminal behaviour.
 
The field work was conducted between July 16 and 26, among 1,113 Jamaicans.
