Taxi operators in Portmore, St. Catherine on Tuesday morning protested the shooting of a colleague, allegedly by the police.

The taxi operators mounted roadblocks along Dawkins Drive, disrupting the flow of traffic to Kingston.

One of the protesters claimed taxi operators are being unfairly targeted by the police.

"Di same police dem weh shoot di man ah guh roun, go roun ah gi di man dem ticket. It need fi stop!" he contended.

It's unclear what led to the shooting.

The police have since cleared the roadblock.
