Probe under way after cops shoot security guards in Negril

The Indendent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the shooting of two security guards by officers from the JCF's Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch at Sunshine Plaza in Negril, Westmoreland on Monday morning.
 
Twenty-five-year-old Dellon Harding died, while a 28-year-old security guard of a St. Elizabeth address is being treated.
 
The guards are employed to Secure World.
 
INDECOM says no firearm was reported as recovered from the incident.
 
Commissioner Hugh Falkner said the incident scene has been process and the firearms of the concerned police officers retrieved. The officers have also given their initial account of the shooting. 
 
Mr. Falkner added that a post mortem will be done on the body of the deceased security guard. 
 
Initial reports were that the police mistook the guards for gunmen when they responded to a call about a robbery.
 
A release from the police said the men were shot during a pre-dawn operation on the compound of a supermarket and cambio in Negril.
 
The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau is also investigating the incident.
