Professor Christopher Charles
Professor of Political & Social Psychology in the Department of Government at the University of the West Indies, Mona Christopher Charles believes the findings of the latest RJRGLEANER Don Anderson poll on voter intent are significant.
The survey shows that 55.5 per cent of the electorate have said they will be voting tomorrow.
Professor Charles, speaking Monday on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines, declared that this figure is particularly striking, given the steady decline in voter turnout over recent years.
The poll was conducted from August 22 to 26, with a sample size of 1,010 respondents.
It carries a margin of error of plus or minus three per cent, at a 95% confidence level.
Professor Charles also believes the outcomes of the recent political debates are likely to sway those who were unsure about whether they will vote.
