Protests against deportation of Jamaicans to be held in UK

Family and supporters of  persons deported to Jamaica—and those facing the threat of  being removed from the UK—plan to protest in Windrush Square in Brixton, south London tomorrow.

The protest follows last month's deportation of  17 Jamaicans, while others face forcible removal on further charter flights.

Tomorrow's protest has been called by Stand Up To Racism, Movement for Justice detainee rights group and the Lambeth black workers' group.

There was intense opposition to last month's deportation of  the Jamaicans.

Human rights campaigners said the individuals came to the UK as children and some were sentenced for drug offences when they were young.
