Public sector dentists decry lack of adequate resources

Dr. Vanessa Kiffin, President of the Jamaica Association of Public Dental Surgeons

Dentists employed in the public sector are again decrying the lack of adequate resources to execute their responsibilities.

This comes even as the dentists ponder the latest offer from the government in their wage negotiations.

The Ministry of Finance & The Public Service issued a preliminary proposed scale to dental surgeons in the public sector after the Union of Clerical Administrative & Supervisory Employees warned that the workers may take industrial action if outstanding compensation issues remain unresolved.

Dr. Vanessa Kiffin, President of the Jamaica Association of Public Dental Surgeons,  says her members are anxious to hear from the government on how matters concerning staffing and facilities will be addressed.
