Rachel Reeves appointed UK's first female chancellor

Rachel Reeves has been appointed UK's chancellor, making her the first female in the position as Prime Minister Keir Starmer selects his cabinet.
 
Angela Rayner has been made deputy prime minister, Yvette Cooper becomes home secretary and David Lammy is the new foreign secretary.
 
In his first speech as prime minister, Mr. Starmer vowed to restore trust in politics and build a government of service.
 
Outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he would resign as Conservative Party leader, after the Labour party's landslide victory in the general election.
