Refurbishing of Redemption Market to be completed December

A December deadline has been set for the completion of  the refurbishing of  the Redemption Market in downtown Kingston.

More than 40 million dollars is being spent.

Work began last month with funds from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Mayor of  Kingston, Senator Angela Brown-Burke, told a press briefing at the KSAC yesterday that the project coincides with the redevelopmentof  downtown.

The Mayor pointed out that several of  the more than 120 spaces have already been allotted to vendors while persons who are selling illegally on the streets, have come in to the KSAC to register for a spot in the market.

The refurbished facility will have improved stalls, roofing and sanitation.
