The families of the two brothers who died in a motorcycle collision in Spot Valley, St. James over the weekend are struggling to come to terms with their deaths.
The brothers - Kenneth Miller, otherwise called 'Gunny', and Vinroy Miller, otherwise called 'Stamma' - were riding separate motorcycles in opposite directions when they reportedly collided.
They were 28 years old.
Kenneth's mother, Paulette Bernard, said she had begged her son not to attend a wake in Spot Valley.
"I seh, Kenneth, do not go dung a Spot Valley. I said, if you want something to drink, go on the stall, tek anything you want on the stall, I pay fi dem. Mi husband seh, Kenneth, Friday night time when people get money, the most people dead at Friday night time."
When a cousin stopped by, and said they were going to another community, Zion, the mother said she agreed that Kenneth could go there instead.
But the tragic news came sometime after 1 a.m. that Kenneth and his brother had died in Spot Valley.
"Mi go dung deh and see Kenneth. If mi did have mi belt mi beat him because mi just talk to him," the woman lamented.
Meanwhile, Vinroy's mother, who broke down in tears while speaking with Radio Jamaica News, described her son as helpful.
His sister, Keniesha Miller, echoed that sentiment while also describing him as a jovial person, who was "the life of the yard".
