Renowned broadcaster Henry Stennett has died

Henry Stennett, one of the renowned voices of Radio Jamaica for several decades, has died.

Stennett, whose mellow voice as a disc jockey attracted widespread admiration, also became the voice of the station's morning traffic report for many years.

In that role he pioneered the broadcast of traffic reports from the sky in Jamaica aboard the station's helicopter, dubbed "The Wise Eye" - adding a significant dimension to the reports.

He eventually became Programmes Manager before retiring from the company.
