Roads in several parishes blocked by landslides, flooding

The heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Rafael has impacted some roads in St. Thomas and St. Catherine.
 
The National Works Agency says it has received reports of flooding and landslides in these parishes.
 
NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw says the Bog Walk Gorge is among the affected areas. The gorge has been closed due to landslides and some flooding caused by blocked drains. 
 
Yallahs to Lloyds in St. Thomas is impassable as the river is in spate. 
 
The road in Troja, St. Catherine is flooded and impassable, while there is a landslide along the Guy's Hill road. 
 
Although persons may want to help clear blocked roads, Mr. Shaw advised residents to "stay at home and not to be out and about at this time".  
 
A situation report from the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation says its team and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security have been notified of several houses that have been flooded in Spanish Town and Caymanas Bay. 
 
A landslide is also impacting the road from Bethel to Richmond Gap in St. Thomas.
 
Meanwhile, in St. Andrew, Chesterfield Drive, close to Seaview Gardens, and the road from Stony Hill to Toms River at Temple Hall are inundated by flood waters.
 
In Manchester, there are reports of flooding on DeCarteret Road and Newleigh Road, while a fallen tree is blocking the Mandeville to Mark Post road.
 
There are also reports of flooding in Lionel Town, Clarendon as well as in Negril, Westmorland.
