Schools closed today due to Tropical Storm Rafael

The Ministry of Education has announced the closure of schools for in-person classes today due to the passage of Tropical Storm Rafael.

Education Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon said on Monday that the decision came out of consultations with the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management and the National Metereological Service.

Dr Morris Dixon said the closure was necessary for the safety of students and educators.

She said schools should make use of online platforms, where feasible, to ensure the continuation of teaching and learning.
