Serial rapist pleads guilty to multiple sexual crimes, burglary

Gym instructor Chaddane Harris, who was accused of raping and terrorising women in a string of sexual attacks in Portmore, St. Catherine, has pleaded guilty.

Harris, 28, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual crimes and burglary before the St. Catherine Circuit Court last week.

The gym instructor, who was captured in 2019, pleaded guilty to six counts of rape, four counts of grievous sexual assault, nine counts of burglary and larceny, and one count of wounding with intent when he stabbed one of his victims.

He will be sentenced on June 24.

Investigators reported that from 2014 to 2019, Harris targeted single women by breaking into their homes and sexually assaulting them at knife point.

In one of the attacks, a bank employee was stabbed multiple times when she resisted.

Harris is scheduled to return to court on April 19 to answer to a new sexual offence charge.

He is also set to stand trial on May 18 before the Gun Court after one of the victims reported that he used a gun in the attack against her.
