Six more persons have died in Jamaica from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the country's death toll to 168.
Three of the new cases are from St Catherine. They are an 83 year old woman, a 71 year old woman, and a 52 year old man.
The other cases are a 58-year-old man of a Westmoreland address, a 95-year-old man from Clarendon, and an 87-year-old man from the Corporate Area.
Another death has been classified as coincidental, after the 74 year old man died post-surgery for a condition unrelated to his Covid-19 infection.
Sixty-three Covid-19 cases were also confirmed yesterday.
That takes the country's coronavirus case count to 8,195. Of that number, 4265 of the cases are active.
New cases of the virus were recorded in all parishes except Portland and St Thomas.
