Some flights cancelled due to Tropical Storm Rafael

At least two arrivals and five departures were cancelled for Norman Manley Airport in Kingston today due to the effects of Tropical Storm Rafael.  

 

In Montego Bay, MBJ Airports, operator of Sangster International, reported a total of eight cancelled flights.

 

Affected carriers included Westjet, United, Air Canada, American and Caribbean Airlines and Cayman Airways. 

 

Delano Seiveright, Senior Advisor in the Tourism Ministry, said the country's major airports remained operational despite some cancelled flights. 

 

"We do have just a few flight cancellations for both Montego Bay and Kingston.... But for the most part, most flights are operational. There may be some delays, but for the most part, pretty much the majority of flights in and out of Jamaica are operating. But in the meantime, we do insist that persons contact their respective airlines to reconfirm their flights," he said.
