President of the Jamaica Teachers Association LaSonja Harrison is pressing the government to rectify outstanding payments to hundreds of teachers across the island.

The JTA head says to have teachers endure the Easter break without their March salary is untenable.

Mrs Harrison says while the majority of teachers have received their pay for the month of March those still awaiting their salaries have monthly obligations that are not being met.

She says the government must have the matter addressed with great urgency.

She was speaking today on the Morning Agenda on Power 106.
