St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Andrew
St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Andrew is now under the management of the Southeast Regional Health Authority (SERHA).
In a media release, the Ministry of Health said the transfer follows Cabinet approval in January last year.
The ministry says St. Joseph's Hospital will be redeveloped as a Centre of Excellence in Oncology and Nephrology, operating as an extension of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).
This will see the phased relocation of certain oncology, nephrology as well as ambulatory services from KPH to St. Joseph's.
The changes will not impact the delivery of radiotherapy services at the National Cancer Treatment Centre located on the hospital compound.
People will also still be able to access urgent care services and be vaccinated against COVID-19.
