The police in St. Mary are investigating a case where a man died in hospital days after reportedly ingesting a corrosive substance.
He has been identified by the police as 57-year-old Garfield Brown, of Three Hill in Retreat.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, January 19.
Brown was subsequently rushed to hospital, where he was admitted.
Despite medical intervention, Brown later succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
