St. Vincent and the Grenadines partners with USAID to modernise energy policy

St. Vincent and the Grenadines and USAID are partnering to institute updates to the country's energy policy.

The stakeholders are working to modernise the nation's decade-old energy policy by aligning it with the contemporary demands of sustainability and economic resilience.

A new draft policy and a detailed implementation plan are slated for development by next month.

The Energy Unit and the Cabinet will review these documents to ensure their practicality and alignment with the country's national development agenda.

Following implementation the country will increase its energy efficiency, reduce its dependence on imported fuels, and promote the adoption of renewable energy.
