A sixteen-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed by another student at Brown's Town High School in St. Ann on Thursday morning.

The accused, who is also 16, is in custody facing wounding charges.

It's reported that sometime after 10 a.m., upper school students were on break when a group of boys got into an argument.

A knife was used to stab one of the boys in his face and abdomen.

He was taken to hospital where he was admitted in stable condition.

The alleged perpetrator was arrested.

Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, Commanding Officer for St. Ann, said members of the Safety and Security Branch visited the school Friday to address students and provide assurance to staff that the police are available for assistance.
