The Jamaica Constabulary Force says its enhanced forensic capabilities has led to the arrest and charge of a suspect in the murder of a teacher in Pear Tree Grove, St. Mary in January this year.
Angella Hamilton, 59, was found with stab wounds inside her home on January 11.
The police say 31-year-old Delroy Palmer, of the same community, was among three suspects arrested in connection with Ms. Hamilton's murder.
Mr. Palmer was charged on August 3 after an analysis of DNA evidence revealed a match between him and the forensic materials collected from the crime scene.
He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
