The man linked to the October 4 quadruple killing in Summerfield, Chapelton, Clarendon, has been charged.

He is 24-year-old Shalom Bent, otherwise called 'Trey' or 'Badda dan'.

The Summerfield community was jolted by explosions after Mr. Bent allegedly opened fire at a bar in the area, hitting several patrons.

Kish Brown, 44, Tio Manning, 29, Varel Manning, 39, and 64-year-old Clifton Campbell died in the attack.

Superintendent Carlos Russell, head of the Clarendon Police division, told Radio Jamaica News that the suspect appeared in court on December 7 and has been remanded until January 11, next year.

He suggested that the capture and charge of Bent should give the victims' families hope that justice will be served.

Superintendent Russell said the authorities have also arrested Siran Walford, a 33-year-old security guard, in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Joseph McLean in the Juno Crescent area.

The police are searching for others involved in that murder.

In addition, several other men are being asked to turn themselves in. They are Kaheem Rowe of Free Town, who is wanted for murder, Panif Bloomfield, wanted for shooting with intent and Steve Francis, also wanted for murder.

Superintendent Russell said Clarendon residents can expect increased police presence as the lawmen intensify efforts to rid the parish of hoodlums and ensure a peaceful Christmas.
