A suspect in last month's killing of Constable Ricardo Fairclough in St. Ann's Bay is now facing multiple charges.
Twenty-nine-year-old Oshane Davis - otherwise called 'Shawn Brown' or 'Kautioni' - of Ulster Spring, Trelawny, has been charged with murder, shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
The police say Mr. Davis, who was wounded during the incident, confessed to the crime and gave a statement.
Detectives say an interview was conducted which confirmed his involvement.
It's reported that Mr. Davis, who was transported by two other men, shot a 26-year-old woman in her face and upper body along Bravo Street in St. Ann's Bay on the night of April 15.
While making his escape, he was confronted by Constable Fairclough.
During an exchange of gunfire Mr. Davis reportedly shot Constable Fairclough in his chest.
Mr. Davis received bullet wounds to his abdomen and left hand.
He was taken to Falmouth Hospital by his cronies, and there he gave his name as Shawn Brown.
He reportedly gave a story about how he was shot but was arrested at the hospital.
