Teen accused of murder remanded again

The 17-year-old St. Ann college student who allegedly knifed his teenage girlfriend Nisa Grant to death last month is spending more time in jail having been arrested more than a month ago.

A bail application by his attorney, Oswest Senior Smith was denied Tuesday when the matter came up for mention in the St. Ann's Bay Resident Magistrate's court.

Presiding magistrate Carol Edwards refused bail arguing that the case file was incomplete and ordered that the accused be remanded.

The matter was set for mention on March 20 when another bail application is expected to be made.

On Thursday February 5, the boy reportedly told the police that he and his ex-girlfriend, Nisa Grant, a student of the York Castle High School were attacked by three criminals.

He said they dragged the 16-year-old girl into an abandoned building and slashed her throat killing her.

But after several hours of intense interrogations, the boy reportedly confessed to detectives that it who he who carried out the vicious crime.

He told investigators that he had a romantic relationship with Nisa, but it went sour in December.
