Three charged following gun seizure in St. Ann

By Kimone Witter

The police in St. Ann have charged three persons, who were arrested on Sunday, following the seizure of an illegal gun and ammunition at Tranquility Valley in Brown's Town.

Richard Russell, a 35-year-old hotel employee, 33-year-old Daniel Cover, and 28-year-old Ann-Marie Brown, were charged Tuesday with illegal possession of a prohibited weapon and illegal possession of ammunition.

They were nabbed during a snap raid.

It's reported that the police went to a two-bedroom house in search of a suspect in the murder of ex-policeman Kenute Dawkins, in Runaway Bay, in March this year.

Mr. Cover was seen with a knapsack containing a Glock pistol and 13 rounds.

All three occupants of the house were subsequently taken into custody.
