By Racquel Porter

Trevon Lambert, the man charged with the murder of 24-year-old Mark Ffrench, has been offered $700,000 bail.

Lambert was offered bail following an application by his attorney, Shamar Hanson, in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Monday.

His co-accused, Dequan Scott and Gavin Davidson, who were represented by Abina Morris, were also offered bail in a similar amount.

In addition to murder, the men are charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and making use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Reports are that on January 31, about 10:45 p.m., Ffrench was in the East Road area of Kingston when he was approached by Lambert and other men, who all had firearms.

The gunmen allegedly opened fire at Ffrench, hitting him several times.

The police were alerted and, on their arrival, Ffrench was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The men are to surrender their travel documents and live at alternative addresses as part of their bail conditions.

A curfew order was also imposed.

They are to report to the police on Mondays to Saturdays.

In the meantime, the matter has been transferred to the Supreme Court for December 16.
