There were three more COVID-19 deaths in Jamaica on Monday, increasing the country's death toll from the virus to 329.
There was also another spike in new infections, with 145 cases recorded, 32 more than occurred the previous day.
The 91 newly infected females significantly outnumber the 54 males, continuing a trend which has seen 1,352 more females than males being infected since the first case was confirmed on March 10, 2020. Overall, Jamaica has recorded 14,419 COVID-19 cases so far.
The central Jamaica parish of Manchester recorded 44 of the latest infections, continuing a recent spike in that parish.
St. Catherine follows with 21 and the Corporate Area (Kingston & St. Andrew), 20.
Three other parishes had double-digit increases in infections: St. Ann, 15; Clarendon, 14; St. James, 12.
As for the other parishes, St. Elizabeth reported nine new infections, Portland had five, St. Mary and Westmoreland recorded two each, and Hanover, one.
Trelawny in the west and St. Thomas at the eastern end of the island each reported no new infection.
