Tourism sector spared major fallout from Beryl

By Kimone Witter

Jamaica's tourism sector has not suffered any major fallout from Hurricane Beryl.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says based on information collected by the Tourism Emergency Operations Centre there has been no wide-scale impact on the general tourism infrastructure.

The Emergency Operations Centre reported that a limited number of tourists required relocation due to blocked roadways or as a precautionary measure.

Mr Bartlett says there are also isolated reports of property damage.

He says post-hurricane impact assessments underway are being led by the Tourism Product Development Company's product quality team, which will provide a clearer picture of the steps that will have to be taken to address any concerns.
