Health authorities in Trinidad and Tobago are investigating whether the death of a 60-year-old man on Thursday is linked to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The retired health inspector suffered a blood clot and paralysis after getting the vaccine last week Wednesday.
He died in hospital Thursday night, after being admitted for a week.
His relatives revealed he was a heart patient and had undergone surgery about 10 years ago.
A day before his death, the Chief Executive Officer of the South West Regional Health Authority, Dr. Brian Armour, said there was no evidence to show a link to man's condition and the vaccine.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram said due diligence would have been carried out.
He said the findings will be made public.
