Donald Trump has told Iranians to keep protesting and said "help is on its way", in the clearest sign yet that the US president may be preparing for military action against Tehran.

An Iranian security officials said the death toll could be around 2,000 people, including security personnel.
Trump has recently floated the possibility of intervention in the country and his national security team is expected to meet Tuesday to discuss the options.
