Mayberry Jamaican Equities returns to profitability

Mayberry Jamaican Equities returned to profitability during the second quarter of 2026, driven by a rebound in the value of its investments listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange's Main Market.

In its unaudited results for the six months ended June 30, the investment company reported net profit of $873.9 million for the April to June quarter, reversing the loss recorded during the first three months of the year.

Managing Director Gary Peart says the improved performance was mainly due to higher fair values for the company's major associate and equity investments as Main Market stock prices recovered during the quarter.

Mayberry notes that, while Jamaica's economy remains in recovery mode following the hurricane, reconstruction spending and improving domestic demand are expected to support growth over the current fiscal year.
