Television Jamaica (TVJ) has won the legal battle against CVM Television over the use of footage from the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China last year.
"The court found that it infringed TVJ's copyright, because it was not primarily a programme that was reporting on current events," Georgia Gibson-Henlin, one of the attorneys representing Television Jamaica, told RJR News.
In addition, she said, "we had cited several infringements - about 18 - online, and the court found ten of those to be infringing the copyright of TVJ.
On September 23, the court will consider damages.
