Two brothers being sought in connection with murder of jockey

The St. Andrew South Police have listed two brothers as wanted for the murder of a jockey committed along Thompson View Avenue in Waterhouse on Sunday evening.

The deceased is 49-year-old Oneil Mullings, also called 'Jockey' of Thompson View Avenue.

Mr. Mullings was employed as a jockey at Caymanas Park in St. Catherine.

Investigators say 37-year-old Samuel Brown, also called a 'Shooter' or 'Mark', a mason of 440 Drive, Kingston 11, and his brother Sean Brown of the same address, are the main suspects in the incident.

The police say preliminary information suggests that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute between Mr. Mullings and Samuel Brown earlier in the day.

It is reported that about 6:42 p.m., Mr. Mullings was standing close to his residence when he was approached by a man armed with a firearm. The man opened fire hitting him in the head.

Mr. Mullings was assisted to hospital by the police where he was pronounced dead.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have information on the Browns whereabouts to contact the Hunts Bay Police at 876-923-7111, Crime Stop at 311, the JCF tip line at 811 or the nearest police station.
