There continues to be tense scenes in Dominica as supporters of the opposition United Workers Party carry out protests ahead of Friday's general election.
Two persons were shot and injured by the police Thursday morning in the village of Salisbury during attempts to quell demonstrations by some of the residents.
Freelance journalist in Dominica, Carlisle John Baptiste, has reported that flights are being affected by the protests.
Dominica's main airport has been closed with no flights coming in or out of the island.
