The St. Catherine North Police are at a crime scene in Bellas Gate where a domestic dispute resulted in the death of a man from a self-inflicted wound.
The police confirmed that his two-year-old daughter was shot and is being treated at hospital.
The incident unfolded sometime after 8 o'clock Wednesday night.
It's reported that there was a physical altercation between the man and his common-law wife.
The man then left the house, running into bushes with the child after shooting at the police.
A search was launched and his body was found this morning.
The child was found beside him.
