Decisive action
Meanwhile, in the wake of Tuesday night's motor vehicle crash on the Llandovery main road in St. Ann which claimed the lives of four people, a Member of Parliament is calling for decisive action to deal with road fatalities.
Dayton Campbell, Member of Parliament for St. Ann North Western, raised the issue Wednesday afternoon during his contribution to the Sectoral Debate.
"We have to come together in a serious way to do something about our roadways to ensure that we protect the lives of our citizens. There are certain main roads that are repeat offenders and I believe that we have to sit and look at those and come up with workable solutions to prevent any recurrence of these tragedies," he asserted.
He encouraged the people to also play a role to ensure that they are responsible on the roadways.
