Vaz urges political party supporters to prioritise personal safety

Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has urged caution among supporters during the campaign leading up to the February 26 Local Government Election.
His appeal follows an incident in St Thomas last Thursday, in which a woman's leg was severed while on a motorcade on Nomination Day.
Mr Vaz said, while he understands that campaigning will be high-spirited leading up to the election, supporters for all candidates should give priority their personal safety.
"I want all of you, on both sides, to enjoy the festivities associated with a, hopefully, peaceeful campaign, but most of all, I want you to be safe while riding vehicles in motorcades," he stressed.
