Taxi operators gathered in Main Street, Grange Hill, Westmoreland early Monday morning to protest poor road conditions.

Droves of old appliances and tree limbs were used to block the road causing miles long traffic jam.

One taxi operator who spoke with Radio Jamaica News said motorists traversing the Savanna-la-Mar to Grange Hill route are particularly affected by the bad roads.

He said the taxi operators will maintain their protest until something is done.

"We out here from morning and we don't hear nothing all now, so we still going to go tomorrow morning again, and going and going 'til we hear something and we see something. Suh we out here and we going to do it because we need something; we need some justice. The road is in a terrible condition," he bemoaned.

Several students attending Frome Technical High School and others were also left stranded in the capital due to the protest.
