Ambassador Burchell Whiteman has ended his stewardship as acting President of the University of Technology (UTECH), but there is no word on who will fill the post.
Whiteman, who was appointed to the post in June last year, demitted office on Friday. He reiterated, in an interview with RJR News, that his departure was in keeping with prior agreement, and that his tenure had been extended for a short period, due to "some delay in arriving at a decision on a successor."
Deputy President Colin Gyles has been appointed interim President of the institution, while the search continues for a long-term appointment to the post.
