Work has started on the Shettlewood to Montpelier to Anchovy water supply system in St. James.
This project will see the laying of pipes from Shettlewood, Hanover through Montpelier, and into Anchovy and is slated to be completed in 12 months.
The National Water Commission says over 5,000 residents in Marl Road, Montpelier, Mount Carey, York Bush, Carey Village, Anchovy, Lawson and Roehampton will see an improvement in their water supply.
Member of Parliament for St. James Southern, Homer Davis, conducted a tour of the area to view the work that has started along the Montepelier main road.
He said the work is the realisation of a pledge by the government to provide a reliable supply of water to residents of the constituency.
