Health authorities in Belize say the country is
experiencing an outbreak of dengue fever.
Between May and July 184 cases were recorded.
Health Ministry officials say they have taken steps to prevent the disease from spreading.
Mosquito-borne dengue is endemic in Belize.
"There have been 184 cases, these are clinically diagnosed cases," said Environmental Health advisor, Dr. Jose Antonio Marenco.
"Now out of these 184 cases reported by our epidemiology unit from the beginning of the year 150 have been reported from May 4 to July 14 and 113 of this 150 are from Cayo district," he continued.
