The United Nations Children's Fund says children in Haiti are facing the triple threat of insecurity, malnutrition and disease.
UNICEF said the spread of violence from the capital, Port-au-Prince, to Artibonite, Haiti's main rice-growing region, is exacerbating an already critical humanitarian emergency.
The agency says over five million Haitians, including a record three million children, need humanitarian support this year and nearly five million are acutely hungry.
UNICEF said Haiti was among the top five countries globally in terms of recorded cholera cases between July 20 and August 31, and Artibonite has been the worst area affected overall.
